Off beat means “unusual” or “very nice” and that is, precisely, the idea that its promoters have pretended to communicate. With this creation these promoters, arrived from all parts in the world, have attempted to make a home away from home.
It is said that Off beat Guesthouse is an exclusive guest house created by travelers and for travelers, where no two rooms are alike. There are some inspired by the retro style, some others of musical or artistic inspiration; there is even one with its own style, inspired by the Basque culture. For their decoration was gathered a collection of ancient furnitures, which were carefully restored and reused.
In addition to the foregoing, Off Beat Guesthouse is also an art gallery, where the exhibition space is the very same venue; as such gallery it is, Off Beat is an alive space, changing space, always shocking.
Off Beat Guesthouse is located at the very old town of San Sebastian, on 31 de Agosto street, the only one which survived to the flames that desolated the city in 1813, caused by the Anglo-Portuguese troops, which where commanded by the Duke of Wellington during the Spanish Independence War. On this very same street, there are also the two most ancient churches of Donostia, and also very close, San Telmo Museum.
