With its exceptional location, with its feet in the sand and situated in the heart of the famous coastal city of Saint Jean de Luz, the Hélianthal hotel has become, after thirty years of existence, an absolute reference in the north coast of the Basque Country.
The building’s large-scale renovation project has allowed its architecture to be sublimated without altering its Art Deco soul and identity one iota, while integrating traditional Basque culture. In addition to the choice of certain emblematic colors of the region (red and blue, …), the teams also wanted to highlight the artisans of the Basque Country. Throughout the establishment, customers can discover local objects and decoration, such as the Goicoechea Ceramics, the lattices made by Alki or the works of the Basque artists Franck Cazenave, Serge Strippentoir, Peio Etxe, etc.
Nobility of materials, elegance, softness, luminosity and naturalness are the keywords of this renovation.
The lobby has been redesigned and invites guests to relax and discover a new decoration that combines the elegance of the 30s with the softness of contemporary design. The materials have been scrupulously chosen between the purity of marbles and the authenticity of natural materials, raw with vegetal inspiration.
As for the universe of the 106 rooms of the hotel, the architect has once again chosen to be inspired by the 30s and combine the maritime atmosphere and the essence of Basque culture. The bedrooms are bright and the bathrooms have natural light. But the great novelty of this work comes from the creation of 10 new suites, including 4 duplexes with terraces and an open and deep view over the ocean.
Animated all year round, Saint Jean de Luz is a city with authentic and unspoiled architecture; it is an ideal destination to combine pleasure and well-being. Take a walk along the beach, which is a stone’s throw from the hotel.
In the south of Bayonne and Biarritz, in the Basque Country, the Hôtel Hélianthal offers free parking nearby and a municipal car park directly connected to the hotel (fees apply). The hotel has a free shuttle service that provides transfers to and from Biarritz airport.
At lunchtime, delight your palate in the L’Atlantique restaurant, with incomparable views of the sea, or enjoy a night of pintxos in Erdiko, its most informal and chic bar.
