Bed4u Bilbao is located in one of those neighborhoods of the city with its own history that, five years ago, was celebrating its first 100 years. In the prehistory of this neighborhood there was nothing other than farmhouses and orchards that produced for the city, but the precursor, almost visionary gaze of a businessman, Juan José Irala, came to change everything to create a new environment (known by the name of Iralabarri-New Irala) based on real estate development and the location of a bakery (it was common to say at that time that Iralabarri smelt like bread). Iralabarri, as an urban development concept, served as inspiration for the creation of Ciudad Lineal, in Madrid.
Today, parts of the bakery remain from that original Iralabarri, as a perpetual reminder of what it was, and some original English-style dwellings to which the locals paint their facades with vivid colours.
